Have you ever had one of those moments when life throws an unexpected challenge your way, and instead of resisting, you choose to surrender? That’s exactly what happened when Kevin and I returned from an impromptu getaway in Playa del Carmen.

The Unexpected Detour

We arrived back in Canada, stepping off the plane and instantly feeling the contrast between the warmth of Mexico and the chilly night air. We were exhausted but eager to get home.

Luggage in hand, we hopped on the shuttle to the parking lot, ready to settle into our cozy car for the drive home. But when we reached the car, we were hit with an unexpected hiccup—the key fob wasn’t working!

Kevin, ever the problem solver, set off on a mission to find a replacement battery, trudging through the cold night in search of an open store. Meanwhile, I stood by the car, watching the clock inch closer to 10 PM. Tired, hungry, and growing a little cranky, I scanned my surroundings and noticed a hotel within walking distance.

“Maybe this is happening for a reason,” I thought. What if this delay was actually protecting us from something worse? An accident? A road hazard? A lesson in patience and trust? Kevin wasn’t exactly thrilled about my “go-with-the-flow” attitude, but with no other options, we made our way to the hotel.

Signs from the Universe

The next morning, Kevin managed to track down a battery, but just when we thought our luck had turned, the key fob still didn’t work. And, of course, we didn’t have the backup key.

Cue another twist in the adventure.

Enter our unexpected angel—a customer care manager who spotted us struggling. He made a call, and minutes later, another team member (who jokingly admitted he was great at breaking into cars) had our door open. Success! Or so we thought…

We got a battery boost, but the car refused to hold the charge. Now, we needed a tow truck. At this point, some people might have spiraled into frustration. But I knew better.

Manifestation in Action

As we arrived at the dealership, I took a deep breath and plugged in my phone to recharge. And that’s when the magic hit me.

See, I had set an intention years ago for Kevin to have a black Land Rover, never telling him about it. And two years ago, while I was out of town, he went car shopping—completely on his own—and bought a black Land Rover.

I smiled, shaking my head at the synchronicity.

And then, just as we were about to leave with a loaner vehicle, the sales assistant led me to our temporary ride… a Jaguar. The very car I had envisioned myself driving when I set the intention for Kevin’s Land Rover.

I had to laugh. What are the odds?

Maybe this entire mishap wasn’t just about a dead car battery. Maybe it was a reminder that the universe was working behind the scenes, orchestrating moments that aligned with my energy and desires.

Trusting the Process

We often think manifestation has to look a certain way—linear, predictable, effortless. But the truth is, the universe works in its own time and through unexpected detours. When we resist, we block the flow. When we surrender, we allow magic to unfold.

So, I ask you—where in your life do you need to surrender?

What if your current “problem” is actually a redirection to something better?

What if you trusted the process and allowed the universe to work its magic?

Because sometimes, getting locked out of your car leads to a reminder that your manifestations are already on their way.
