It seems surreal to me. Five years ago, I made one of the biggest shifts of my life! For months, I wrestled with doubt and fear. The ‘what ifs’ flooded my mind daily. I felt the anxiety creeping in, but I did my best to hide it.
That same year, my husband and I made a bold decision. After years of living apart due to his work, we chose to embrace our empty nest years together, no matter where his career took him. I requested a transfer and was granted one—with the added bonus of working remotely. It seemed like the perfect solution… until it wasn’t.
Not long after, the financial company I worked for began offering packages to its most tenured leaders—without an option to stay. These were colleagues who had dedicated over 30 years to building the company into what it was. But with new leadership came a wave of changes, and suddenly, careers were being erased with the stroke of a pen.
As the year progressed, an uneasy feeling settled in. Would I be next? Could I secure a long-term role? I attended every internal interview, hoping for clarity—but nothing fell into place. That’s when I started asking myself the tough questions: What’s next for me? Will I still be able to work in the career I love?
Then, one early November morning, it hit me: If the company didn’t value me, why was I still valuing the company?
It was a lightbulb moment! My perspective shifted instantly. I picked up the phone and called my VP. With absolute ease and confidence, I asked for a package. I asked to be let go from the career I had poured 13+ years into. My VP wasn’t expecting it, but in an odd way, it was a relief for both of us. If I made the choice, it lifted the burden from him as well. And just like that, he said YES.
In that moment, I claimed my worth. I knew my skills, my impact, and the results I had delivered. I was free to step into my dream—bringing my 30+ years of leadership experience to high-achieving women. I combined my corporate expertise with deep mindset work, powerful strategies, and conscious leadership. My mission? To help other women design life on their terms, reclaim their confidence, and create their best chapter yet.
